Thévoz City Tours is an exhibition cycle in the public space that started in Yaoundé, Cameroon in 2016. The exhibition concept is a system that uses advertisment billboards as an art and photographs displays. No commercial messages in these images for once, besides inspiring emotions and reactions from the audience they are stimulating free thinking and individual apreciation. This cycle was initially designed for cities and countries that were visited by Jacques Thévoz, to disseminate his work into their home countries and to create bridges between 2 countries. This photographs taken abroad constitute a shared heritage that becomes visible to the locals and recalls details of the recent past that are sometimes forgotten. The Archive Photo City Tours are exhibitions that travel to its audience and is adressed to the ones that never visit art institutions. The photographs are like salmon, going back as close as possible to their birthplaces.
